How to use the row counter
Tap the big + button each time you finish a row or round, and − if you counted one too many. Every change is saved in this browser at once, so you can close the page and carry on later.
Several counters. Add one for anything you track: rows, pattern repeats, sleeve decreases, motifs made. Each has a name, its own + and − buttons and these settings:
- Main counter: the one shown large at the top, moved by the big buttons and the keyboard.
- Moves with the main counter: a linked counter goes up and down with the main one, so one tap counts the row and your place in the pattern.
- Repeat every: shows where you are inside a pattern repeat, such as row 3 of 8 in repeat 2.
- Stop at: a target, with the rows left and a progress bar.
Keyboard, when you are not typing in a box: Space, + or ↑ adds a row; − or ↓ takes one away; U or Ctrl+Z undoes; N adds a counter; 1 to 9 makes that counter the main one.
Undo steps back through your last 100 changes, resets and deletions included. Keep screen on asks the browser not to dim the screen while this page is visible, where the browser supports it. Export saves your counters to a file and Import loads them back, on this or another device.
Example
A cable pattern repeats every 8 rows. Keep Rows as the main counter and add a counter called Cable, with Repeat every set to 8 and Moves with the main counter ticked. After 21 rows it reads row 5 of 8 in repeat 3.

Questions about the row counter
Where are my counts saved?
In your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere, so counts made on a laptop do not appear on your phone: use Export and Import to move them. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Once the page is open, yes. Counting, saving and undo all happen in the browser, so a patchy connection at a knitting group does not matter.
Why does my screen still turn off?
Keep screen on needs a browser that supports the Screen Wake Lock API, and it only holds while this page is the visible tab. The system can also release it, for example when the battery is low. Switch back to the page and it is requested again.
Can I count rounds, repeats or crochet rows?
Yes. A counter simply counts taps, so rename it Rounds, Repeats, Motifs or whatever you are tracking.
What is the difference between Reset and Delete?
Reset sets a counter back to 0 and keeps its name and settings; Delete removes it. Both can be undone with Undo.
